Aiva

A personal assistant console built for the Motorola Razr cover display, backed by tools, memory, scheduling, and explicit action approval.

The product constraint

Aiva is designed around an unusually small interaction surface: the external display of a Motorola Razr 60 Ultra. The interface has to stay useful around physical camera lenses while remaining legible at a glance.

The system

The Android client uses Jetpack Compose for chat, tasks, notes, system monitoring, settings, and ambient clocks. A FastAPI backend provides the assistant loop, tools, scheduler, memory, and a companion web dashboard.

Actions proposed by the model require in-app approval. The backend supports local and hosted model providers, while demo mode allows the complete interface to run without a server.

Engineering details

The project includes lens-position calibration, private-network deployment guidance, token authentication, an allowlisted action catalog, streamed responses, and tests across the backend and Android application.
